Withdrawing your Bitcoin from Bitcoin Yield is a two-step process that allows you to convert your stBTC back to BTC, including any yield you've earned.

Withdrawal Process

The withdrawal process consists of two main steps: Request and Claim.

Step 1: Request Withdrawal

    • Go to the "Withdraw" tab in the Botanix Yield interface

    • Select the "Request" sub-tab

  2. Enter Withdrawal Amount

    • Specify the amount of stBTC you wish to withdraw

    • The interface will show you an estimate of how much BTC you'll receive based on the current exchange rate

    • Note any applicable fees

  3. Submit Request

    • Click "Request Withdrawal"

    • Sign the transaction with your wallet

    • Wait for 2 blockchain confirmations

Step 2: Claim Withdrawal

  1. Navigate to Claim Section

    • Select the "Claim" sub-tab

    • You'll see your pending withdrawal amount

  2. Enter claim amount

    • Enter how much you want to claim. The easiest option is choosing "Max"

  3. Claim Funds

    • Click "Claim"

    • Sign the transaction with your wallet

  4. Receive BTC

    • Wait for 2 blockchain confirmations

    • Your BTC will be sent back to your wallet

What Happens Behind the Scenes

During the withdrawal process:

  1. In the Request phase, your stBTC is converted to pBTC at the current exchange rate (which includes your yield)

  2. In the Claim phase, the pBTC is burned at a 1:1 ratio and the equivalent BTC is released from the smart contract to your wallet

This two-step process ensures security while allowing you to receive the full value of your initial deposit plus all accumulated yield.

Important Notes

  • Withdrawal Period: Currently, withdrawals are processed instantly once transactions are confirmed. In the future, when staking and slashing are fully implemented, withdrawal periods may be longer.

  • Yield Accrual: You stop earning yield on the withdrawn amount once you initiate the withdrawal request.

  • Partial Withdrawals: You can withdraw a portion of your staked assets while leaving the rest to continue earning yield.

  • Gas Fees: Both the request and claim steps require small amounts of BTC for gas fees.

By following these steps, you can successfully withdraw your Bitcoin along with all the yield you've earned during the staking period.
